Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Computer Science

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for multiple full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Computer Science faculty positions in the Department of Computer Science with a preferred start date of January 2025. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Teaching computer science courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, programming languages, databases, security, visualization, quantum computing, AI/ML, human-computer interaction and social computing. Outstanding candidates from other areas will be considered as well, for example in robotics or computer-supported coop work.
• Service to Department/College/University/professional community is expected.
• Scholarship/Research expectations include pursuing and receiving external grants, creating journal articles and peer reviewed papers, advising undergraduate and/or graduate student research, etc.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications Include

• An earned Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or a related discipline, is required. The required degree must be earned by the start date.

To be considered for the Associate Professor rank:

• The candidate will bring a demonstrably national and/or international reputation in higher education and research with a proven track record of securing federal funding as PI and publishing in high quality journals and conferences.
• Highly developed human relations skills, including strong collaboration and teamwork skills, to work well with students, faculty, staff of all levels and backgrounds in the organization.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
