This position will be located in Durham, NC.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or other related field
- 15+ years of software development
- Architected, designed and built enterprise scale systems
- Conversant in data science concepts; able to lead development of integrated software & AI solutions.
- Extensive integration with 3rd party platforms using industry standard protocols
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience
The Purpose of Your Role
The Technical Leader is a key role on the Incubator team. The Technical Leader is responsible for working closely with the business to understand the requirements and then architect, design and lead the development of pilots and new products; frequently in collaboration with 3rd-parties. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast paced and highly ambiguous environment working with emerging technologies, high risks and uncertainty.

- Proven leadership and strong technical skills
- Proven ability to build a strong, positive culture managing a team technology professionals
- Proven track record designing, scale and building complex end-to-end systems
- Ability to lead a small development team and resolve technical/design issues
- Experience working closely with business partners and providing the appropriate system solutions to the development team
- Strong Object-Oriented analysis and design skills
- Full stack Engineer with strong experience in front-end technologies like AngularJs, Bootstrap etc. & middle tier technologies like Java, NodeJs, Python.
- Experience with both SQL based and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of cloud computing environments, applications and tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills
- Experience and knowledge of both waterfall and Agile/iterative software delivery methodologies
- Ability to clearly convey information to a broad array of technical and non-technical audience
- Exceptional sense of customer service
- Motivated, self-directed, results oriented

How Your Work Impacts the Organization
- As a senior member of the FCAT Artificial Intelligence Incubator, you will help understand, develop and test the data enabled capabilities, products and services of Fidelity’s future. You will have responsibility for solution design and solving key technical challenges while working across different teams and mentoring team members. You will oversee key platform capabilities critical to successful integration of artificial intelligence design architectures with emerging technologies like web3 as well as augmented and virtual reality.
- You will apply your technical leadership to vast and varied data sets on one of the industry’s leading developmental networks. The role will be a core leader of an AI/ML focused incubator team consisting of Product Management, Data Science, Product Design, Design Strategy, Engineering and System Architecture professionals, all focused on developing capabilities, products and services to improve investment outcomes and enrich the customer experience.
