Job Summary:
Position responsible for developing, implementing, and coordination of a comprehensive student life/activities programs including student life programming, curricular and co-curricular involvement, multicultural and diversity programming, student government association, clubs and organizations, and the proactive recruitment and retention of students engaged in student life initiatives.
 
Provide support for various functions within Student Life and Intercultural Student Services. Generally, serves as a contact for the day to day functions and works closely with the Director of Student Life and Intercultural Student Services to successfully carry out the mission, vision and goals of the department as well as educate the college community on policy and procedures related to core business. As a staff member, this position may be involved with coaching and mentoring students on academic and personal needs.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Additional related duties may be assigned.
1. Coordinate educational, cultural and community experiences for the student community.
2. Serve as Primary Advisor for Campus Activity Board and specifically work with,all Club Executive board members on goal setting and completion. Advise student leaders (Executive Council) on methods and processes. Assist in problem solving a variety of issues. Mentor student leaders throughout the academic year.
3. Oversee Executive Council Meetings and provide guidance to the Vice President of SGA, responsible for leading the meetings
4. Prepare and monitor budgets and reports. Perform computations and routine statistical analysis using Excel. Oversee day-to-day budget expenses and resource allocation, including maintaining records of expenses and revenues, as well as attendance and other data.
5. Provide direction, and ongoing support to all campus clubs and organizations in Student Life.
6. Identify appropriate conferences for student leaders to attend. Ensure travel form completion and compliance with all College travel rules and regulations. Gather information for all student organization travel and track the information for annual reporting.
7. Work with Director to develop and coordinate the work of appropriate departmental assessment and evaluation tools. Create annual calendar of assessment projects and report outcomes via the Co-Curricular Assessment Committee. Serve as Co-Curricular Assessment Committee member.
8. Develop, oversee, recruit and manage the club advisor process, including
developing the advisor training which are held during the Welcome Weeks.
9. Develop and follow standard operating procedures for club advisors.
10. Coordinate educational, cultural and community experiences for the student community. Make travel arrangements. Travel with students to leadership development conferences and meetings, serving as advisor and college representative. Mediate situations as needed.
11. Coordinate with the Communications and Marketing Department for all photographing and video documentation. Design, develop, and oversee implementation of relevant marketing strategies and initiatives directed at students, prospective students, faculty, staff, and the general public; edit and coordinate production and distribution of a range of promotional publications.
12. Work with Publicist/Web Coordinator to develop, update and maintain content on Student Life website and social networking sites.
13. Maintain current knowledge of policy and procedure for student activity and related programs and services.
14. Regularly review and work with campus services to update and maintain event policy as needed. Attend logistics meeting, as needed.
15. Serve as a resource to student groups and/or populations as an advocate for their concerns.
16. Serve on Co-curricular Transcript Committee and implement initiatives in Student Life
17. Oversee all contractual obligations and financial transactions (i.e., Program fees, speakers, stipends, contracts, and related business matters) in accordance with approved Student Life initiatives and activities and events.
18. Serve on college committees as needed.
19. Serve as a resource to student groups and/or populations as an advocate for their concerns.
20. Serve on Co-curricular Transcript Committee and implement initiatives in Student Life.
21. Regular attendance is expected.
22. Using tact and courtesy, the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with persons contacted in the course of work.
23. Oversee the operation of the Student Life online interactive student engagement space. 
24. Liaise with Director, establish an annual reporting system.
25. Liaise with student leaders, coordinate Student Leadership Banquet.
26. Coordinate Student Life recruitment days (e.g. Student Club Fair).
27. Assist and be part of diversity programming, such as Hispanic Heritage Month, Black History Culture Month, Women’s History Month and LGBTQAI + planning committees, attend PAIC.
28. Develop and implement with the support of student leaders, student life signature events, such as Welcome Week, Spring Semester Kick Off, Leadership Banquet, Student Involvement Fair, Athletic National Championship celebrations, Midterm Mania, and Finals Frenzy.
29. Assist with maintaining department website.
30. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
1. Ability to read, understand and express oneself clearly.
2. Exceptional oral communication, public speaking, and written skills are necessary.
3. Must have experience with organizing large and small events in a higher educational or similar organization.
4. Must be able to demonstrate experience with individual student and student group advising, and experience working with diverse populations.
5. Prefer experience in a community college setting.
6. Prefer a knowledge base and/or experience in student development or group development theory.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. Regularly scheduled events or trips outside of the office involve travel and potential after hour requirements.
