Coordinator of Testing Services

Position Summary
The Coordinator of Testing Services is responsible for the daily operations within the department of University Testing Services which administers make-up and accommodated exams, as well as various national testing instruments. The department goal is facilitating the delivery of excellent services to students, faculty, national testing agencies and contributing to the University's retention and graduation efforts. This position interacts regularly with students, faculty, and administrators. The Coordinator of Testing Services reports to the Director of Auxiliary Academic Services.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word or similar.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use Xtender and Banner systems.
  • Ability to solve problems with faculty and/or students with effectiveness and diplomacy.
  • Excellent human relations and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in handling multiple priorities, meeting deadlines and solving problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure during times of high demand for services.

  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.


Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree.

Required Work Experience
Two (2) years of relevant experience in student support serviceswithin a higher education, testing administration, advising, and/or teaching environment. Additional education will be considered in lieu of required experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree.
  • Knowledge of national testing programs: CLEP, DSST, ATI-TEAS, ALEKS-PPL and THEA.
  • Experience with Banner and Navigate systems.
  • Familiarity with accommodated testing as per the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Experience in student services in higher education.

None specified.

Work Hours
Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with extended hours as needed, especially during peak periods, to meet departmental goals.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 10lbs of testing materials on occasion.
  • Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat to retrieve testing materials.
  • Ability to actively engage with students in preparation for, during, and post testing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to regularly move about campus and testing venues, as well as attend meetings on various campus locations.
